Zacks (aka Beerman) Cobia heads to the fishbox                                         Pauls Snook is awarded his release
Cobia are some of our favorite fish to target off east central Florida. These "brown bombers" as we call them take up residence year round but during
winter and early spring they can be found in groups migrating north just below the surface following manta rays. Early in March, the fish can be aggressive
and will eat artificial baits such as 1-3oz. jigs. Like sight fishing in the flats, find the fish swimming just below the surface on bright days and cast out in
front of the fish, bringing the bait in front of them. Later in the season they can become more timid and may only eat live baits. Always rig multiple baits on
10-25lb spin rods and be ready. The brownies not only offer an incredible fight on light tackle but are some of the best eating fish around!
